However, OP did say four knobs, so I took that as Electronic Climate Control  ;)

Yeah, the description...

It’s the pfl with the 4 round control buttons (1999 mini facelift) 👍

...could be either the early style rotary controls (vacuum actuated), or the MFL 4 cluster ECC  ;D

And an MV6, so possibly ECC was an option.

These waters are getting very muddy all of a sudden :D

Yes that’s the control panel I have.

I do have a spare if it needs it

Will try the reset procedure as battery was disconnected for a while.
