My tyres never get below 3mm, can't see why you'd let them get any lower.

Is that why you're keeping your Astra? The tyres still have 4mm on them :D

Plenty of tread in the middle, but they are worn on inside and outside edges. Not sure why as I try and keep them around 33 psi.  :-\

Yes.  :P
It failed on the towbar plate in the boot not being bolted down. I knew about this but didnt realise it was an MOT failure. Was planning on bolting it back down sometime soon, but now plan on doing it tomorrow morning.  ::)
Got an advisory on the front tyres which was expected. Will changed them in the next few weeks.
At least it wasn't a surprise issue, tyre advisories aren't really a big deal if you generally keep an eye on them as a matter of course :y

Because the Omega is a heavy car and pressing on through the corners does tend to chew through the edges of the front tyres. The only real solution is to slow down before the corners/roundabouts  ;D

Add in reasonably wide tyres, modern offset wheels and that 'overly complicated suspension' is actually about as simple an IFS can be has compromised geometry.

I dont drive it particularly hard and its been set up to WIM settings. Tyres have done 8k miles. They are Acellera ph1.
i THINK i will go for something different next time. They are pretty shit in the wet anyway, once they have a bit of wear on them.

I got my rears at 47,000 miles, now on 74,000 and still plenty of tread. Obviously FWD, so the rear is only being dragged along.

I did wonder about a possible alignment issue (settings a little too extreme ?) but would that cause wear on both edges ? I doubt it personally.  :-\

Thinking about buying these as replacement. Not awash with dosh at the moment, and they arent a bad price for new tyres from a brand Ive actually heard of.

To be fair that type of wear is normally due to driving Pretty hard without enough air in the tyres. I would and do, run a few pounds higher and it helps a lot👍
