All of the above.

I once drove all the way from Guildford to Mildenhall, A3/M25/M11/A11 in lane 1 at a calibrated 56Mph.

Only exception, about 100ft of the M25 hard shoulder because some arse decided Lane 2 wasn't good enough for 45... Just as I passed on his left :o

The middle lane hoggers generally seem totally oblivious to everything going on around them.  ::)

I generally go round them rather than undertake just in case they unexpectedly move into the inside lane, but you'd think that people would take notice when a car comes up behind in the inside lane, moves across the whole carriageway to overtake in the outside lane and then moves back to the inside lane in front of you.  ???  :-\

That would mean they're paying attention to the traffic world around them. They are the people who drive into the side of other vehicles, don't give way, knock motorcyclists(who are not always innocent) off, are constantly distracted by their phones/passengers, slam on the brakes when surprised, write it came from nowhere on their insurance claims, don't know where they're going etc etc.

Yes but using Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, Grindr or taking selfies while in charge of a moving vehicle is far more important to these people.......

I have no qualms whatsoever in undertaking if i think that it's safe. But i do give the dozy idiot, who is hogging the middle lane without anything in front of them for about 500 yards, a chance to move over by giving them a quick flash. ;D
I,m sure i didn't type that. :D

Drove it back from Norwich. Eventually.

It's a journey I used to do alot, but I tended to drive it at night just to avoid the traffic on the M25. Ironically, the M25 is now one of the better bits :-\

I might start travelling at night again, just to avoid everyone else...

Yeah, that's the problem now, most roadworks, apart from new projects, seem to result in overnight closures.
