I can assure you its replacement will not be a Mercedes Benz. And never will be until they discover how to design cars again, which isn't looking likely any time soon.

Mum and dads neighbour has just chopped his e class estate in for an A46AMG, its pretty lively (god knows how long such a highly tuned 4 pot will last! ) but, the front and rear is horrible, the interior really low rent and the audio system does not even have a touch screen and is a nightmare to use  :-\ :-\

Thankfully he still has the Aston  ;D
A really expensive all wheel drive clit rally car...

Bloody heater fan stopped working on the Yeti, Goggled it and common fault if left standing and its been idle for 6weeks while I was in hospital and recovering. Bit of a fiddle getting it out but it just twists and drops out the underside of heater in passenger footwell. AS soon as it came out it worked , lubricated the bearings and tried to get it back in. Bugger the big thick wiring loom that runs across bulkhead wont let it go back in so glove box and foot vent pipe out and 2 screws in lower dash and then it just went in . Only prob was the foot vent pipe wont twist to go back on properly so it just butted up , will still work and I don't have the floor heat on as a rule. Took about an hour.

Pierre has been playing silly buggers again this week. After fitting a new injector it ran nicely again - for a couple of weeks.
Thus week it seemed to have a big flat spot just where the turbo should kick in, then the turbo kicks in higher up the rev range than it normally would.
It has got steadily worse, and yesterday threw up fault code 2263 - turbo boost issue.
It could be the second hand turbo I fitted at the beginning of this year is on the way out, or it could be something associated such as a blockage / air leak / vacuum / sensor /  etc. etc.
Will start having a look at it later, but not really sure how to diagnose the problem.
No smoke or oil being chucked out the exhaust (yet), so Im slightly optimistic it isnt the turbo itself.
I havent (yet) had the ECU coded for the new injector, but I doubt thats connected to this issue.
I hear the Swan Vestas calling to me once again.  ::)

If it’s a variable geometry turbo then it’s dirty/carbonised vanes I would suspect.

Not sure if its variable vane or not tbh. Should have had a look at the old one before I binned it.  :-\
Will inspect pipes, vac connection etc. first and go from there.  :y

CV59 PDK. I assume getting rid of carbon build up in the turbo means removing and dismantling the bloody thing ?
Could always try spraying some oven cleaner or similar in there I suppose.  :-\

Just watched a couple of youtube videos where cleaning foam is sprayed into the turbo to clean it, so that might be a possibility.
Will check other stuff first though.
Cheers.  :y

I don't like touch screens. My COMAND is operated via a dial

This has a dial and its rubbish, would be bearable if the voice command was half decent. (Its not). Entering nav destinations is painful, browsing songs and stations similar. Works far better if you use Smartphone projection but that often fails to connect

Presumably you remove the turbo first before spraying oven cleaner into it?  ???                                                                   :D ;D
