The two things are unrelated coincidences.

Really? I didn't actually think they were connected.. ::) ::) you've put my mind at rest ::) ::)
Just both came on the same day... the purported Vauxhall text was a little different, to say the least.
But, to get back on topic....

The most likely is they mis read the registration number, especially if it was a few of these volunteers standing by the roadside with pen and paper, rather than some more sofisticated device, ………

In a neighbouring village, two old grannies sit in their deckchairs with their clipboards.  :y

A few years back I got a congestion charge fine. As it was a lease car through the company I worked for, they were going to deduct the fine, plus £25 admin fee from my wages. I stormed in to the office of the guy that oversees the leasing and demanded an explanation. He said that I’d need a very good explanation to prove it wasn’t me, to which I replied that my good explanation was that I’d returned the vehicle in question eighteen months ago. He looked awkward when it dawned on him and just said he’d deal with it and the matter was closed. My concern was, how the hell could a lease car still be registered to me eighteen months after I’d returned it.  :-\

It's plausible that the leasing company had parked it to let the age catch up with the mileage before moving it on and the next person simply didn't register it.

The only way not stop being the registered keeper is to transfer to a trader or register it to someone else, or scrap it.

Mercedes are sending a Tech out to inspect the Brave Servo on the Alabama Mumsybus. Be interesting to see what the outcome of the 'check' is...

Used up another 10,000 miles of rear rubber in order to show my disapproval towards some jobs-worth traffic managing knuckle dragger, who after already sending me around the houses in Londonium, still wouldn't let me down a 50yrd lane to get to where I needed to be.

Downside is the bloody jag needs 10s to turn off TC (or whatever wankword marketing acronym they give it now), grrrr

Received a letter from Mercedes informing me of a brake booster recall...
To be fair to my typo, I did previously call it a Brake Booster as per the letter from Mercedes  :P
