Sure he's not Fritish, or Brench? He protesteth too much methinks.

Actually, showing my ignorance here, Great Britain doesn't include NI, so does that mean that residents of NI aren't British? Or does British include all of the UK?

You'll have to ask Irish British Albs. I, too, thought that NI was part of the UK, but not GB.

Looks like I shall be fondling Peirres bits no longer. Aux. belt has come off and found a new home wrapped very tightly around the crank pulley around and under the cambelt.
Set the cam pulley to the timing mark - presumably meaning valves are closed - and tried turning the crank. It gets to a certain point and wont go any further. Just get a sound of metal touching metal. So down the scrappy I reckon.
It seems the cam can be rotated 360 degrees, but the crank cant.  :-\
Will be driving the Omega very gently indeed, to work starting Saturday.  :'(

And yes, all citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are British.  ;)
Whether they like it or not.  ;D................Im one of the ones more than happy to be so.  :)

Timing mark will just be the datum for belt fitting. I doubt there's any position where all the valves are closed.

Actually, I should have said - see if it turns over using a socket on the crank pulley bolt.  ::) ;D
I have a feeling that it has expired though.
If it has I will pull off the new genuine turbo I put on it a few months ago. Ive even keep the Renault box it came in.
Might pull the Cat off while Im at it, and sell that separately too.
