I'd still take Kevin's advice though and whip off the Aux belt to see if anything there is getting noisy before ordering the timing belt kit.   ::)

Might just be the tensioner bearing needing some grease.  ;)

I will, but a new timing belt kit at the shelf won't do any wrong, right?
I've ordered the INA one...

No, they can only go up in price especially if and when manufacturers cease supplying parts for Omegas.  :)

So I've now runned about 1000km with INA timing belt kit and everything is ok!
Installation with no troubles at all... great kit. Recomended. All parts are SKF.

Did the old kit show a reason for the noise?

No no no, the other tread you've read unfortunatly is before the gates kit. By that time, the timing belt kit was an original SKF and the noise was in fact the  tensioner.
The skf was repalced by a gates, I simply forgot about the noise because the car was been stoped about two years, but the noise remains after INA replacement. Anyway, the gates was in ok conditions but after opened (it had almost 4 years), I've replaced by the INA. I suspect that the noise is coming from the gear box...

If you haven't regreased the Aux-belt tensioner bearing, I would recommend that you do that anyway, as it is very easy to do and several people on here have had the bearing seize, which throws the belt and can cause other damage, not to mention a roadside recovery and needing as a minimum a new tensioner and belt! :(
