hi im going to view a facelift 2000 model auto 3.0l elite

i used to have a manual carlton gsi3000 24v few years back

any things to help me look out for atal?

are they prone to rot underneath or tappety from cold etc

Main thing is to ask when the timing belt AND tensioners were last changed. They should be done every 40,000 miles. If the tensioner fails or the belt goes, the valves usually hit the pistons, which bends them, and its a heads off replace valves job.

A lot of cars aren't serviced regularly. Things like the hydraulic tappets may clatter but will improve after a couple fresh oil changes.

They are generally excellent cars, very capable crusiers, and last a while if looked after.
