Electric seat slide not working on 1999 Elite
« on: 12 December 2009, 18:08:19 »

Hi folks, got a problem with drivers electric seat on my 1999 Elite saloon.

Seat won’t slide fully forward. Can move it all the way back, but moving forward it just stops after about 10cms from being all the way back. Thought something had got stuck in it, maybe a coin or something, but can’t see anything to stop it from moving fully forward.

Motor sounds fine, was a bit crunchy sounding, but always worked fine. Obviously hasn’t burnt out, and everything else works fine.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix (economically!)?

Cheers all.

wht happens if you use one of the memory settings to do the moving rather than the for/back switch?

It will be a coin or something similar stuck in the seat runner :y

Look down the left side of the seat .. between the seat and the seatbelt thing, there is a gap in the runner right by the seatbelt thing .. thats where coins drop in, and they can be a bugger to get out....

This is what a euro coin looks like after it got in there ...

That took about an hour to get out  .. :(
