We wont.We could ressurect the Beatles and send them over there, and they still wouldnt win.
We will probably still come close to last.
It has been a political point scoring exercise for a long time now, and indicates that most European dont like the British, apart from when we are in their countries either spending our money, or defending them from invaders.

Not to worry. Macron has a plan to change all that. A two tier Europe. Normal/Proper countries then Albania, Britain etc. at tier 2. Then we would get a few more points.

Indeed.  I was at a party this afternoon into the evening, and the eldest son of my friend who arranged it all, brought his big television into the village hall so anyone who wanted to could watch the match.

I wouldn’t normally show my favouritism towards Liverpool FC, but as most watching were Southerners supporting Chelsea, I thought I would show my support of Liverpool as I have for decades now. So as Chelsea missed those penalties I was shouting out loud in celebration. My grandson joined me, and we were delighted when “the Pool” did it. ;D ;D

Great stuff! :y :y :y

Oh well - another correct prediction. Won't be bothering the bookies much this year though.

Had belting rain here last night and I think the wet gets into the wiring of my TV aerial and I lose signal, so I missed Eurovision last night.  :-\

No - the odds weren't good enough for an each way bet (needs to be better than 6:1 IMV - 8:1 preferred) , and I don't know how to do a 'to place' bet.

In a normal year my money would've been on Sweden to win. They can normally rely on significant Baltic Block votes from Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to do the heavy lifting, so all they need to do is come up with a semi decent song and they're in with a shout. However, this year all the smaller and non NATO countries were always going to give their douze points to Ukraine. I also think the UK benefitted from our fairly vocal (and military) support of Ukraine - that is being noticed by the smaller countries, undoing some of the damage that BREXIT did/is doing. On the other hand, the half hearted support for Ukraine from Germany and France is also being noticed, and IMV reflected in their voting.

I also had to laugh at the shocking news that some of the Eurovision voting was suspicious - who would've thunk it  ;D https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/eurovision-2022-votes-from-six-national-juries-removed

It was actually a thrilling 0-0 draw, as people who know anything about football will tell you. Stick to tractors  ;D

No it wasn't. I endured the first 45 minutes of tedium before going to watch some paint dry.

But at your age it is best you don't watch anything that gets you too excited in case it sends you into the next world. :)

I prefer women's football for two reasons.

1....Easier on the eye ( apart from the overly butch girls)

2....The girls are so tactically inept there are always plenty of goals.
