Replacing rear speakers
« on: 03 March 2022, 16:12:52 »

Despite posting about speakers last year, I have still to replace the buzzing one in the back.
As a Christmas present, I got a pair of Pioneer 13cm speakers, apparently with the correct adaptors.
I finally decided to take the plunge last weekend and took the door card off, in hope that it would be a straightish swap. However, the new speaker did not fit nicely flush into the adaptor and, it would appear, I will need to do a fair bit of drilling to get the adaptor onto the inside of the door and i cannot see how it will fit nicely given metal moulding of the door skin.
I questioned the vendor whether I had been sent the right adaptors (they were packed separately) and was assured they were.
Seems like an awful faff.  ::)
If anyone who has swapped rear speakers could offer any advice, it would be gratefully received.
Ta in advance.

I have a feeling I used Corsa adaptors. But it was a while ago...

They look right to me.  :y

Do you recall if you had to do much drilling into the door to fit?

Just checked out the spec and it states.

"Vauxhall Omega 1994 On 13CM 130MM 5.25" Car Rear Doors Speaker Adaptor"

But then goes on to say "Allows 120mm (12cm) speaker to be fitted into original position". Methinks they mean 13cm.

Anyway, for just £13.35, I figured it was worth a punt!

Thanks again for the link!  :y

I think it was a straight screw in without drilling.
