There's always good and bad stories about peoples experiences of the NHS - personally mine is excellent.
Had two total hip replacements - one in 2021 and the other in 2022, both after only approx 7 months after seeing the doctor.  The waiting time of 7 months included being referred, seeing the consultant, and all the pre op tests etc etc
 My second one would have been after only 5 months, but I got Covid after attending a funeral, so it had to be postponed
The standard of care and the post op treatment was second to none.
I know I'm only one in a long list of patients, and waiting times do vary from region to region, but I've nothing but praise for my NHS experiences follow my ops.

If you have a tasty vehicle, and the scrotes really want it, the alternative to them accessing your vehicle on the drive using their scanning equipment is them breaking in your house for the keys. If they then can't find them and they really do want it, do you really want them coming upstairs in the dead of night threatening you with violence for the keys?
In some respects, them accessing the car without threatening you or the family is a safer, although extremely worrying, alternative?

If you want to avoid causing minor damage to the top edge of the door card, then yes, it's preferable to remove the door card to gain clear access to the mounting fittings

Being quite large car, I think Omegas suit strong darker colours, such as yours. Only my opinion, as colour is subjective, but your Omega is a real credit to you!

I agree with James about the cost - I have just dug the receipt out for my alternator that was overhauled a couple of years ago wlith genuine Bosch parts and a new pulley bearing - £55. And at least you'll know the terminal will be correct if it s the one that was on originally! It's slightly fiddly to fit just because the access, but James should have it cracked off in no time!
Sorry to read about your health woes too, but I hope you soon make a speedy recovery

I have tried various types of leather upholstery products, and for me I  find the Gliptone cleaner and conditioner works the best, and seems to retain the leather smell in the cars, both with my classic and moderns.

A relative of mine a good few years ago had an BMW M3 with launch control. When he took it for some warranty repairs at BMW (nothing to do with the drive line or transmission), he was warned that the diagnostics on the car showed it had had two previous activated launch control starts, and that certain future warranty work may be declined should the number of launches exceed a number (I'm not sure what) not short if the two recorded.
Begs the question, why would a car manufacturer have such a system on a performance car, to basically say its use is restricted? Seems crazy to me....

My son has a 2019 VW Passat Business estate with the 150 TDi engine. Very economical, cheapish road tax (not quite as cheap as his 2.0 TDi Audi A3 he had for years previously, but still cheap). Now approach8ng 100k, it is extremely reliable, and has an absolutely massive rear load area - equally as big as my 3.2 Omega Estate. Loads of useful toys as well, rather than stuff you think would be good to have but never use - only useful for helping to sell it when the time comes.
