MAF question

Hi guys, I would need to know if the MAF from x20xev Vectra is the same as in x20xev Omega. My omega has some issues with acceleration and stalling - I would like to try to cure that with some good used parts. No codes present.

Have you cleaned Idle Control Valve, checked for intake leaks etc?

They are yes but, clean the ICV and the throttle assembly plus breathers and small drillings fully as a first step.

As its these that make ALL the difference on the 2.0 16V

Yes, I'm going to do that again anyway, together with air filter change, though it looks like new. Unplugging maf isn't bad idea too I believe, just to see what will happen

Definitely unplug the maf and see how she drives before committing to a definite maf fault (this will put the EML on though, but it should go out after a short while)! The Maf, if the same unit as the 2.2, is shared with a few vauxhall's. Including (but not limited to), the Zafira (not sure on engines but it's what my 2.2 maf was replaced with), Some astra's, some vectra B's and I believe some later corsa's. If the little metal posts inside the maf that you can see are rusted or corroded, it's most likely failed tbh!

Also if you have the single coil pack (can't remember if the 2.0 has) then check the rubber tubes that fit onto the spark plugs. These deteriorate, especially so if they have ever been immersed in oil. They then split and the coil pack can arc to the the head instead of the plugs where it should go! Top tip if the tubes are split you can clean them really well and use super glue to stick them back together. It's a good temporary fix and I know that this problem can cause reduction in power and in extreme cases stalling.

used Maf should be no more than £5 it's what I paid for mine anyway (from local breakers)

Probably not many Omegas etc in local breakers in Slovenia ???

 ;D Very rare ro be seen on the road yes, mostly on the net in parts for sale site... and still very rare.
 It's not very disareable car but I can travel trough entire country in one direction and than return to starting point with some fuel left in tank... ::)

I unplugged MAF today and went for a ride, No stalling, revs are fine and it pulls ok now so I need to replace it and hopefully it will be ok then. Thanks for help guys

Have you looked in the for sale section of this site? sure some body will be able to help you out if your having trouble finding one local.

It wouldn't be fair to expect someone will bug himself to earn a fiver by sending a MAF all the way to me... :P
I found it here from vectra with the same engine, will do the work

Update -
 Replaced the MAF today and omega runs fine now. Responds immediately, idles at 800 rpm and doesn't stall any more. I'm happy as kid  :y ;D
