I've spent the last few months recommissioning a 1996 Omega 2.5 V6 CDX Manual that I got from it's original owner, currently at 17915 miles. It had been stored for 5 years and I have enjoyed recommissioning it and it has passed it's MOT this week with no advisories.
Fair bit of work done to get her up and running:
4 x New Michelin Energy 205/65/15 tyres
Fuel system replacement, Pump , filter, all rubber hosing replaced
Alternator has been fully refurbished
New Lucas Battery
Exhaust system replaced, 2 x centre pipes 1 x rear silencer
Full cambelt kit, SKF bearings and tensioner pulleys and water pump replaced,
Obviously it's been service with new fluids
Service history:
All carried out by supplying dealer with invoices and book stamps to back up, each service included engine flush, oil and filter and oil conditioner added

I've been around Omegas for 20 yrs and owned about 20 in that time but this is pretty damn near as brand new as I've ever seen, rear arches and underside are mint :) the interior is as new, rear seats I doubt have ever been sat in. She had the option for the "executive pack" ticked which I didn't know existed so heated leather all round, multichanger, rear blind and auto dip mirror. She drives like she's just come out of the showroom :y

Very nice 8)
Genuinely a classic :y
-
Very nice, Jon. Is it a keeper?
-
That is lovely. Same colour as my 97 Elite was.

Sadly Ste it might not be, would need to go to a good home though

Given how much people have paid for significantly overpriced ex plod rubbish, you should see a pretty decent price for it... Be surprised if you don't get near £10k for it.

Yes, but he loves it, like Albs loves Pierre. It can't just go to any old owner, you know. :-*
Like fûck, show him the money ;D

I would be amazed if he did. It's nice, but where are you going to find someone daft enough to pay £10k for an Omega???

Given what people have paid for significantly worse cars...
-
Nice very nice, personally I'd be very tempted to keep it if it were mine , let it go and I guarantee you'll regret it regardless of the value of it. Absolutely stunning colour.

Stunning :y

Same exterior colour as the '95 Elite I had some years ago[interior on that was black]really excellent looking job you've made there, but I think it's some while yet before the Omega is a 10 grand car although this one looks to be a very good candidate to be so.

Stunning :y
Cheers Terry :y

Thanks for the comments all, very heartening :y
I'm confident it's likely one of the best one's left, the originality is what makes it stand out, such as the original spray wax being evident everywhere and other stuff, kind of hard to explain without actually seeing it. I can't see an Omega making 10k for many years to come but 5k maybe more reasonable

That’s tidy!

beautifull in every respect and just emphasises my own beleif in ultra low mileage cars.
the condition of that car owes lot if not all to the fact of its mileage. yes a high mileage wreck could actually be made to look liket that but at what price ? and to what availability of new parts especially trim.
as to the estimated price tag.what else could you buy for that money that gives that level of driver pleasure and comfort and style thats essentially nearly new condition wise ?

Lovely car - personally I prefer the PFL. (just my choice) - you won’t find another- you can only sell it once 😏
Classic car weekly valued my mini facelift 1999 MV6 (with manual box & recaro leather) at £5k
It’s 56k on it with Vauxhall motors been 1st owner, then me, then a chap in Glasgow and now me again ☺️
