Do you think that "the authorities" will allow all military aircraft operations to show on this public site?   I would not be surprised if there is some kind of blocking going on for those 'sensitive' operations by the RAF and the USAF ;)

There is. It won't show the (almost) daily U2 flight to the Baltic, or the covert police surveillance flights which are going on virtually nightly over Ipswich at the moment  ;)

They also fail to pick up the USMC aircraft carrier Iwo Jima which is currently in the Western approaches, with (approx.) 6 Harriers, 10 CV-22's, 2 CH-53's and 2 MH-60's.

Hang on, a black van has just pulled up outside - I wonder what they want....

I'd be more worried about the British Gas van parked up across the street all day.  ;D

Remember aircraft have to turn on a transponder to appear on this, so it's very much an "opt in" thing. ;)

The A400 that occasionally goes over here isn't always switched on... Can't hide to distinct noise it makes, even from 23,000 ft up ;D

Likewise the Chinooks from Odiham at 50 ft up... You can't see them, but you can't miss them.  :D

Almost as distinctive as a Vietnam era Huey 8)
