Title: Head units
Post by: BazaJT on 25 May 2020, 20:19:56
My Omega[a F/L Elite] left the factory with the CCR2006  and Traffic Master system fitted.Finding a 2006 is relatively easy the hard part is finding a Bose compatible one as sellers don't seem to know for sure what they're selling.I wouldn't mind fitting one of the NCDC units but the ones with screen[ to avoid any issues]that come up for sale all seem to be from the Vectra/Signum which I'm told won't fit the Omega for some reason? Looking through the audio manual for the car it seems another option was a CCRT2008 but again were these available in Bose only or were they available as either Bose or non-Bose in which case I'd be back to trying to find a seller that knew what they were selling?

The screens are a different size on the Vectrum ;)

Which is a problem as they're paired to the head unit...

CCRT2008 is 100% non Bose.

I have one, but you need the display for it as it's different again  :D a bit of wiring to do to...

Thanks for that DG.Will just have to keep looking for a known Bose 2006 or Omega specific NCDC unit then.

I'm confused.  Are you saying none of the CCRT2008's were Bose?

I've had 2 Omega's with that unit, and both were Bose;

Yes, CCRT2008 was available as a Bose unit, bit more common in European (Opel) Omega's though, although it was an option in Vauxhall land.

There are a fair few 2006s/2008s/ncdc2015s on E-bay from Poland and or Germany[it seems to be the same company advertising them] in the case of the 2006s/2008s they don't have the code for them and they don't seem to know whether they're Bose or not,so at circa £100 I'm not prepared to risk it.In the case of the 2015s they're only selling the head unit and not the screen to go with them so again I'm not prepared to shell out circa £100 for one of those either.

Not on early Vec-C.  The LCD is identical, but control boards different, and the only way to visually tell its a Vectra one is it doesn't have the 3 metal prongs for the switches.

This is good to know, I’ve just taken a punt on a NCDC2015 from an early Vectra C to go into my Omega
