I should maybe have made it more explicit that it is camber, not toe which is causing this.

i knew what you mean, the toe & caster are set perfect toe is 0.02 0.04 but camber is now 3.80 3.20 they were 6.90 6.10 before i had it 4wheel tracked,
i will fit the rear pollys see if they help & poss fit new bushes in rear wishbones at same time & have her re tracked,

car is not as low as it was few months ago!! it was that low i could hit cats eyes with middle pipes when i booted it to overtake at least now ive got 4" of clearance!

Zippy mate, Friday is the 7th!

In fairness to the other 30 people in the buy, some of whom are desperate to get these bushes, it's not really fair to hold up the final order by another day. I've already extended from the 5th to help another member.

As said previously you can telephone your bank, pass some security questions and verbally give them the transaction/account details. They will then transfer the money for you. No computers involved. ;)

ahh now i know what you ment, as of 4am im off 2 north yorkshire to do a job, when i get back in the afternoon i will walk into my local HSBC Bank & pay in £85 in cash to the account name & numbers you sent me if that helps?? As my omega is down as a company car my farther said he would pay for the bushes from his company account but as time is short & he is not here, i dont want to piss people off i will find a HSBC Bank somewhere & pay it in. Sorry for the delay. Plus i didnt notice that bit at bottom of page saying cut off date 6th dec.

In short, lowered = extreme inner edge tyre wear. It's as simple as that.

Also, lower profile tyres = inner edge tyre wear.

You can claim some back by using the adjustable bushes - I have some fitted to the Holden, BUT these are only suitable for the outer position. The inner position relies on the bush being quite floppy for the suspension to work. Remove this and you'll get some very interesting handling traits as the wheel won't be able to move through its full arc properly. This is different to the Pedders information ( Omega B is subtly different to Holden at the rear )

unsure how low my car is.. :-\  its loaded atmo so i will brave the -3 outside :'(  & measure from arch to wheel center front/rear & maybe some one could work it out??  :y

right im back... front is 330mm rear is 310mm

the pair of rear conti 275 30 19s lasted 500miles before the inside edges egged to hell 10 in fact on 1 wheel!!
i tried a pair of nankang 245 40 19s like new with 7mm they lasted about 2000miles but rear toe was way off!! 2 replacement tierods & all adjusted up perfect!!
been better with the 255 35 19s the last pair of Pzero rossos did 1600miles but only had 4mm tread
the dunlops ive fitted atmo have done 1800miles so far but did have 7mm tread when fitted & down to 4mm on inside edge atmo but mostly motorway use last month,
so new pair again in jan unless i put my steels on if we get this snow...??

i pay & fit the rear polly donuts 1st & go from there because there totally breaked!!!

Only thing i really hate about jacking up any car to get 2 stands say under the front (1 each side) is you can always jack 1 side up fine put the axle stand under it no prob but if using a trolly jack as it lifts wheel just off floor as jack lifts car towards you the axle stand under the car on opposite side is now on 2 legs not all 3!!! pulling stand over, so to eliminate this prob i use a trolly jack on 1 side & a bottle vertical jack on other then put both axle stands under at same time..  ;)

but before i can even get jack out i have to drive it up onto 2 sloped 3"x8"x12" pieces of wood to get jack under it!!!  :y

i calnt get my car on even my small 8" ramps without 2 pieces of 18" wood to make the ramp shallower because my bumper scrapes!!  :'(

be even worse when ive fitted the steinmetz side skirts & front lip spoiler!!!  :-\

General Car Chat / Can Rear camber be adjusted..???
« on: 05 December 2012, 01:00:01 »
Hi all,

Basicly as post says can you adjust the rear camber?? i know the omega loves eating rear tires anyway on inside edges!!!

iva had the rear toe adjusted smack on & front aligned perfect etc apart from 1 front struts caster is out on strut top..

anyway i know lowering an omega throws everything out camber wise fronts can be adjusted on struts perfect but rears even worse?? 1500/2000miles 3000 if im really lucky!! to a pair of rear tires is starting to get annoying & on 19s getting harder to get good 2nd hand 255 35 19s 0r 265 30 19s!!

My last pair were measured roughly from outer to inner 6.0mm 5.2mm 4.0mm 3.2mm 2mm 0.0mm wires!!!

yes both rear subframe bushes are knackered hoping to pay for the polly ones this week but is there any way of adjusting the rear camber apart from cutting/welding the rear wishbones level??? DRASTIC I KNOW!!!

please help!! i dont really want to raise it back up

General Car Chat / Re: Steinmetz Supercharger on a 3.0MV6...????
« on: 05 December 2012, 00:04:05 »
that's a centrifugal supercharger - basically a belt-driven turbocharger, which explains the poor power graph. Definitely not an Eaton unit.

Omega engine sound up to certainly 300HP if certain precautions are taken regarding coolent temperatures and the oil system.

ide be happy up towards the 250/300bhp mark, i havent the time to break about changing engines, if found a eaton unit that may do the job but it has more than 0.4bar boost so thort it would do more damage than good..
& atmo centrifugal ones are pricy but are kinda bolt on/bolt off if it doesnt work etc...

other option i was looking at was just after the manifolds on the bend of the downpipes before the cats was fitting 2 turbos & running the pipes back forward for the air intake... i know turbos run at best directly/close as poss to the manifold but by running them further back ide have a little bit of lag but hopefully bit extra boost & not enough boost that would damage the engine..??

i mainly wondered if anybody knows of anybody with the steinmetz one fitted..???

if i was going down an engine change route ide just go & buy a 2.0 16v omega & chuck the turbo unit out of a astra/cavy/calibra etc etc in to it atleast it all be kinda simple plug & play...

oooh, I do like a firm bust.  :P

Looks clean in the pics.  Maybe this is a stupid question but what's so special about woodentop spec rear springs?  Are they rising rate or something?

Lol... Firm "bust" Should say "but" Lol... I did it on my phone and it does it all the time..... Predictive txt! Ha!!!  ;D ;D

Woodentop??? It was lowered and stiffer springs from the police, cost a fortune to replace from Vauxhall!.....

YEAH YOUR TELLING ME!!!!!! had a broken front so priced up a new set..... maybe not ebay i went & found a mv6 breaking with irmscher red springs for £40 complete on struts they do nicely!!

General Car Chat / Steinmetz Supercharger on a 3.0MV6...????
« on: 04 December 2012, 16:39:32 »
Hi all does any body know of anybody running a supercharger on a 3.0/2.5 v6??
i came across this link...
http://www.steinmetz.no/PressRelease.aspx

does anybody know anyone with it fitted?? or the eaton M62??

i know the V6 internals are like toffee if pushed to hard but surly if steinmetz say 0.4bar boost is enough to get neer 300bhp gota be worth a go maybe..??
As my engine has only covered 50k should still be strong enough for some mild tweeking..???

please leave comments below....

i had to go to hereford in truck on thurs night, oh what fun i had, think the yellow coach driver coming other way wasnt too pleased when i painted it brown with muddy water as went through a flood flat out but i was fully loaded with a container of 32tonnes full of hieniken heading to the usa

So if Hieniken made a awful flooded fun road that would of been it!!!

my mig looks like its been in a swamp!! bottom 2ft clean.. ish..  bonnet windows & roof are yellowy brown colour from muddy clay water coming off fields & been flung over roof!!

i was really surprised that it could get threw that depth of water without faltering once engine still smooth even with exhaust fully submerged water was coming up the bonnet & up on to windscreen !! worrying bit was when rear of car started to float & slew sideways even with 200kgs of tools in the boot!!!! the 19s must of acted like propellers pushing it along!!
