Passed mine in 1969.

Within a mile and a half of me there's a large Halfords an ECP and a Parkers while at the far end of town[about 3 miles]there are two Independant motor factors.
I remember the Cortina[and so many more]being launched-Consul Classic,Consul Capri,Triumph herald,Mini to name a few. :-X

In Lord Opti years I'm only 19, so don't know about these Cortinas of which you all speak.  :)

I thought you had a Ford Model T brand new as a first car?

Used to have an good indy motor factors near me, i see it's now Wilco. Time will tell i suppose.  :-\

Cheeky sod VXL  :P I'll have you know I've never bought a car brand new and nor will I ever do so! I have however had a brief[about 10 miles]drive of a Model T some years ago which was an "interesting" experience.
