Title: Widest wheels which will fit??

Just out of interest...

Noticed a few people running 18x8j wheels (so assuming 235 tyres...)
Would 18x8.5j fit with 255 tyres??  Or is that getting a tad too wide for the car  ;D

Offset will be 35mm :)

Bob Dent's car has, (or at least used to have), 275s on 17" rims at the back!

I don't think I'd be inclined to put them on the front mind.

ive got 19"s on mine with 275/35 tyres on back and 245/35 on fronts think wheels are 8/8.5" wide  :y

Mark you got any pics of them at all??  Be interested to see how the 275's fit on the 8.5j width...
