Wiggley Thing ?
« on: 02 May 2009, 23:02:11 »

Whats is the wiggley colligated pipe that sits near the Oil Filter. Is it connected to a sensor of some sort and if so, can I remove said sensor without getting covered in oil. I have a PITA leak from around there and I was wondering if the sensor gasket had perished, sqwerting oil gentle all over the back of the engine, low down.

Sounds like the crank sensor, the oil leak is more likely coming from the cam covers and running down the back of the engine to that area. :y

It does sound like the crankshaft sensor.  I believe there is a seal on the sensor, so maybe it has perished.

The seal should be renewed if the sensor is detached from the block - I think.

Good luck... :y

No not unless you try to run the engine
