Presumably the warning is related to the front pads and not the rear. The car has covered 19600 miles. Looking through the wheels the pads appear to have 5-6mm of 'meat' left........the drivers side having slightly less.
Just ignore the warning or can I switch it off?

There are sensors front and rear. Like all sensors, there will be plenty of pad on, mores if the discs are lipped....
....*BUT* the less pad material thats left, the lower the cooling ability. For that reason I tend to change mine before or when the sensor breaks.
Not ability to turn off the warning, but like most cars, you can short the sensors.

The bimmer used to use the rear pads for traction control, so they may well be more worn than you think, depending on your driving style. 8)

Rear pads appear to have only 2-3 mm left so I'm guessing this is why the low pad warning light came on.
I'll price up new pads, discs all appear to be fine, with no 'lips'

I'm sure you'll find a 'How to..' guide in the maintenance section of the Jag forum. :)

Although you might find that the caliper pistons are electronically wound in and you'll need JagTech (or whatever their system is called) for that. :-\

This isnt VAG tat, you can achieve it on most JLR products with a few switch presses ;D

I took my Dad's Sierra to my local Kwikshit for an exhaust.
They spun the rear wheels across the carpark, through the workshop and onto the ramp.
The manager had nothing to say when I laid into him in front of the full waiting area.
Suffice to say he very carefully backed it out a couple of minutes later. Kuntz.

I know it's only a zafira, but I was still peed off, so I asked the manager where he'd gone. 'For the parts for your car'. Yeah, right. If something happens then they're not insured, the car's not insured and throw a dose of TWOC into it and there's the whole unemployment situation and dealer reputation damage... Not to mention fixing/replacing the car and all the hassle that goes with that.

I think they probably are insured. Motor dealers insurance or something.

O dear, when one was aboy, the things we use to do with Customers cars, :D,, The Lunch run was a regular,as was going to get parts, but if it was a Red Label Turbo, Road test time.

All sorted £100. I even gave them a £5 tip because I am such a very nice man. :)
I have the old pads, the inner pads look more shagged than the outer pads.
Replacement pads are Pagid T2072 according to the box.

I think the pads were original, so lasted 19500 miles. I'll see how long the Pagid pads last.
Most of the braking power is the responsibility of the front brakes so perhaps it won't matter too much if the rear brakes are piss poor. ::) :)

I have DSC off ......and Trac DSC which allows for a certain amount of slip and slide. Even with the DSC fully engaged it still seems to slide quite a bit before being reined in.......which is quite surprising,

Most of the braking power is the responsibility of the front brakes so perhaps it won't matter too much if the rear brakes are piss poor. ::) :)
They are not great for high speed braking and when hot (and the vectoring function they can get hot, rear pads are very important on modern cars).
Lots of dust to, so not good for alloy wheel finish :y
At the end of the day, they are a cheap entry level pad :y

I currently have them all round on the Black Pussy due to needing some in a hurry. I've had huge issues with Pagid on the Battlebus and the Omega, so definitely not my first choice (although I did buy it with Pagid all round).
However, I'm pleasantly surprised, they take some abuse and have lasted better than expected, and I haven't felt the need to replace them early, like I did on the Battlebus (after about a month as couldn't get them to bite) or Omega (couple of weeks due to overheating issues). Very dusty though, and the allows are stained. All 4 alloys, not just the front.

The box has 'engineered in Germany' written all over it, which presumably means they are manufactured somewhere on the dark continent by small brown boys without shoes. :)

Yes, a German "engineer" sent a spec sheet to Taiwan to instruct them how to make them. :y
