philips 700 radio/phone kit

hi , has anybody ever fitted the 700 radio / phone to their car, i have a scrap car to rob all necessary parts. ie radio unit, roof airiel, display, mic etc. does anyone know if their is any harness mods needed, thanx, mark

not personally - but does the cassette door have "bose" marked on it? If so, the outputs are designed to feed a (bose) amplifier not speakers directly - you'll need to replace the wiring loom too as the signal goes from the head unit to the amp (under the parcel shelf) and then back to the speakers ... so watch out for that  ;)

I think you might find a lot of the loom needs replacing as the DIN plug is different to the rest of the single DIN units, the GID i think has a differnt loom to ordinary MID (plugs on the back different), also it has OnStar compatability so the normal Elite Sat Nav stuff doesnt fit.

If any one wants to by a Carin set up ( Disc player and holder, screen, twiddly knog and GPS antenna but no wireing) let ne know
