Omega General Help / 2.6 P1500
« on: 15 March 2023, 07:48:24 »
Hi Fellow members, I hope you are all well.  I sent the 2.6 to a garage near carlise for mot and service. Sailed through the mot,
but apparently, on return to its storage place, the eml light lit up. Thus far, they have replaced coil pack, plugs, rocker gaskets.
I'm now informed p1500 is now on the scan and goes into limp mode when it comes up to working temperature, after idling
for five minutes. apparently, it starts hunting and runs rough before the limp mode actuates. I have informed them to take it back to storage, as they don't seem to be the best people to fix it. I should state. it has been in undercover storage since sept/2019!!
I asked storage manager to put a gallon of 98 fresh fuel, and preserver into tank, and start it up about six months ago. He stated started straightaway and run beautiful. :D I intend to replace fuel filters and fuel pump. Any advice, and suggestions,
gratefully accepted. I should also add I return to uk mid april, as have been visiting the grandkids. :)

Hi All, Does anyone have the above seal to sell. It has been explained to me by a garage that it is an O ring with tabs down the sides. Cash waiting. Thank you.  :)

Omega General Help / breather bridge to plenum seal 90467543
« on: 03 February 2023, 16:09:15 »
Hi All,
I hope you are all well. My magnificent low mileage 2003 2.6 needs the elusive seal 90467543.
Does anyone know where I can obtain one? If they are truly unobtainable, any suggestions as to how
the problem can be overcome? IE: using an o ring with copious amounts of black sealant, or even blanking it off?
All suggestions gratefully received. and hopefully not the death knell of this beautiful motor.  :)

« on: 18 August 2020, 13:49:04 »
Hi fellow oofers, i hope you are all keeping safe. I know this question would have been asked before, but has anyone actually fitted a
2.6 into a 2.2. I have a donor 2003 2.6. If anyone has actually done this swap, was it straightforward.  Any advice gratefully accepted. :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / radio
« on: 11 July 2017, 20:09:22 »
hi people. my 2003 2.2i battery went flat. jump started it all good, but radio now in safe mode.  I have tried to enter code, by the book, but to no avail. safe mode, and will not alter. I have entered code previously, no problem. my question is, if previous owner entered wrong codes, and all ten used up, is it now stuffed? or does the coding reset to ten trys each time the right code is entered. I note there is nothing else other than safe on the display. in anticipation, thank you all.

hi people, hope you all good. can anyone advise me please. my 2.5td is leaking diesel from around the injector pump. the motor is still running sweet. but, assuming the worst, I have seen a pump for sale on ebay  (megaparts.eu) for 293.48 euros. the part no is the same.
ie: 0460406994. the donor motor is a bmw 7 series, (E38) 2.5TDS. 143 HP sedan auto. 1997. bosch. I know the extra power is probably too much for the AR25, but no problem, 1 will not be "booting" it. my question is, will this pump work normally? in anticipation, of informed replys, thank you all. ancient explorer.

Newbie Welcome Area / greetings
« on: 18 July 2016, 22:22:55 »
hi, you lovely omega people. I found you several years ago, and the information on this wonderful site is priceless. my first omega, 1999 2.5td, now resides in Australia. I bought it at six months old, with my redundancy money, and the information on this site has kept the wife driving this (in my view) exceptional limo around western Australia for many years. I also own a 2.2i, (yup, the head gasket failed) and a 2.6 v6. superb limo.  I used a 2.5 in the early nineties as a government chauffeur, therefore know what a vastly underestimated car they really are. in my view, superior to a bmw 5 series. again, thank you all, for the website. good luck, and good health to you all.  :)

Omega General Help / disconnected small breather pipe inlet side.
« on: 07 October 2015, 23:06:29 »
hi people, the small breather pipe from cam cover, to throttle body is disconnected. can anyone inform me how this would affect the engine. up to now, the motor seems to run ok. reason for disconnect is the short metal pipe, extending from side of cam cover, has broken off. would the most straight forward fix be, to obtain another cam cover from a breaker? in anticipation, thank you all.
