Thanks for the info Doctor. Could you confirm where this plug is situated. If said plug is attached to throttle control motor, then it makes sense that the garage inadvertently disturbed it, when they cleaned the breathers, replaced rocker gaskets etc.  I believe the garage in question just do mot's and basic servicing, so i'm not criticising them. Thanks again for the info.

Omega General Help / 2.6 P1500
« on: 15 March 2023, 07:48:24 »
Hi Fellow members, I hope you are all well.  I sent the 2.6 to a garage near carlise for mot and service. Sailed through the mot,
but apparently, on return to its storage place, the eml light lit up. Thus far, they have replaced coil pack, plugs, rocker gaskets.
I'm now informed p1500 is now on the scan and goes into limp mode when it comes up to working temperature, after idling
for five minutes. apparently, it starts hunting and runs rough before the limp mode actuates. I have informed them to take it back to storage, as they don't seem to be the best people to fix it. I should state. it has been in undercover storage since sept/2019!!
I asked storage manager to put a gallon of 98 fresh fuel, and preserver into tank, and start it up about six months ago. He stated started straightaway and run beautiful. :D I intend to replace fuel filters and fuel pump. Any advice, and suggestions,
gratefully accepted. I should also add I return to uk mid april, as have been visiting the grandkids. :)

Hi JamesV6CDX and BazaJT,
Much obliged for the info, because it seems there must be a way of keeping this lovely old limo on
the road, despite not being able to obtain a rubber ring! Any further helpful suggestions from members, gratefully
accepted. Just noted BazaJT post. Thanks Baza, I am in australia at present, and I am in the process of trying  the GM
dealers here. If successful, I will post details for other members here. Thanks again.  :)

Hi Enceladus, Thanks for your reply. My circumstance is slightly unusual insofar that I am in western australia visiting grand children at this time, ( 8 hours in advance of uk time) and the omega is at an MOT garage near carlisle uk. I thought it a good idea to have the car collected by a local garage, MOT;t serviced, and returned. Garage stated car in excellent condition, and passed MOT, no problems at all. (so far so good) I was then informed when returning car EML light came on, and they returned car to garage to investigate. I'm now informed, they cannot obtain that elusive seal, and are trying to locate one. They explained it to be a rubber O ring with tabs etc down the sides. I have found this seal online, but always unavailable. If any members have one for sale, please get in touch, cash waiting. If I fail to obtain this seal, can any members advise if there is a way around this problem? As we all know, our omega's are not worth a fortune, but would be tragic to send this one down t'scrapyard  :'( cheers

Hi All,
I hope you are all well. My magnificent low mileage 2003 2.6 needs the elusive seal 90467543.
Does anyone know where I can obtain one? If they are truly unobtainable, any suggestions as to how
the problem can be overcome? IE: using an o ring with copious amounts of black sealant, or even blanking it off?
All suggestions gratefully received. and hopefully not the death knell of this beautiful motor.  :)

Hi Fellow OOF'ERS,
Much thanks for all your informative and helpful advice. Beauty. I have owned omegas for over twenty years.
For cheap luxury cruising, in my view, they cannot be beaten. I would also state that the members on this forum sharing their
knowledge has allowed me to keep my lovely omegas on the road. Best of luck to all. :)

Omega General Help / 2.6 into 2.2

Hi fellow oofers, i hope you are all keeping safe. I know this question would have been asked before, but has anyone actually fitted a
2.6 into a 2.2. I have a donor 2003 2.6. If anyone has actually done this swap, was it straightforward.  Any advice gratefully accepted. :)
