General Discussion Area / Sales and Wanted
« on: 16 December 2014, 15:31:19 »
Some of you may have noticed that I put a notice up today to get rid of Goldie.
I know the "written rules" and two people reminded me very sarcastically to which I replied, pointing out that other posts have been moved before,so therefore I asked the question.

The sale post has been taken down, which I accept.
However why are there posts still in the for sale and wanted section that are from people with even less posts than me?
I have helped out in the past when an Oofer needed parts, which I sent just for posting cost,so I am not here to make money,I was hoping that Goldie may have been of use to someone on here.

No worries, but an explanation to why some posts are allowed and some not, might have helped.
Have enjoyed being a member of your family and thank everyone for their help when Goldie has been poorly.

Unfortunately I  am soon to be Omega less although we have downsized to an Astra, soare there any rules that state, as I will no longer be an Omega Owner I must leave and join the Astra club?

Fantastic Forum, well done everyone,I was always taught if you dont ask you dont get, obviously some ask and get and others dont!
Happy Xmas one and all ;)

« on: 29 August 2013, 09:15:51 »
As you are all aware  ::) we done the HG on goldie the other week,I cleaned the head best I could.
Just checked and there is still a trace of mayo on the dip stick and filler cap :-\ Is this normal?

I intend to run her for a couple hundred miles and then change the oil and filter again, am I right in thinking this will clear the cream? :-\

PS Thankyou to omegod for the strut clips, all sorted :y

Omega General Help / OBD or not OBD2?
« on: 16 August 2013, 14:06:17 »
Hiya

Thinking of buying one of these code readers,as the engine management light is permanently on and it's in for MOT on Monday.
Although the car seems to be running alright it's 2.2CD manual (51 plate) 2001? is it OBD2?
Also need it to sort out and clear a picasso with lights still on(airbag and child seat) and find out why the blooming speedo dosnt work (sensor already changed) and maybe her pug (if & when lights come on!!)

Will it do the job and clear the lights and reset?

Cheers.

Would you be so kind to move this to bits wanted, please :y

My Grandson has lost the two retaining clips (the ones that are nearest the bonnet) does anybody know where I can get them?
Have tried the local scrappy's and parts people,to no avail.
Dont really want to buy new struts as their is nothing wrong with the existing!

Thank you all for your help (especially Mr/Mrs Admin) ;)

Omega General Help / Goldie!
« on: 18 June 2013, 12:21:24 »
Thanks for the welcome back guys.
It is a shame,as Welung done a very good job of putting another engine in 2.5 years ago,the engine management light always stayed on though, for some reason a fault was not detected by either a garage or ourselves!
"Goldie" is in good nick, save a few dinks and bit of rust coming through on the arch(2inches),problem is do I spend the money, bit wary as last time it started with electrics, then HBV and then the belt went on M25,mashing the engine.
Its only done 84k(and the replacement engine only 74K)......and now my grandson has taken his tools to it,to try get head off.....arggh(he aint even started college yet!!).....so help / advice in the Norfolk area needed please.
Will put this in the other bit of forum.
Cheers
Paul (Lush)

Newbie Welcome Area / Hi Peeps
« on: 17 June 2013, 20:48:06 »
Hi Everyone
Been a long time since on here (Lush) forgot password and email changed!!!
So re-registered.
Goldie has died  :-[ (51 plate 2.2CD),Welung got it back working back in 2010,but now the head has gone(well the oil looks like something you get out of a mayo bottle!).
So with regret,I am going to break the old girl, every thing is good (except the head) and clean, few little dinks.
Gold colour will post some pics,it's either a weigh in jobby or bits that might help you peeps (cheap).
Glad to be back.
Paul
