A brain metastasis

Back again folks, getting out of St George's tomorrow and doing it all again.
Biggest pi$$er is the driving ban, and although I laughed it off the last 3 times I can quite clearly see why I shouldn't be in charge of anything that moves faster than me at the moment.
One of the hospital hotspots is called eduroam which is a secure roaming Wi-Fi network, and my brother is involved with that so I can tap 40 Mbit both ways on this lappy for nowt while others are using the patient Wi-Fi that costs £12 per week and gives no more than 3 Mbit (see, there's always a bit of sun somewhere).

I had the op 8:30am last Wednesday, woke up in ITU around 4pm, moved to HDU the following afternoon, then spent the entire next day learning how to compensate for my balance when standing and learning to walk again.
My current speed is around 20 metres per minute, and I can't go out unaccompanied for shopping or whatever because I will fail at some point.
On the plus side, my surgeon told me I'm winning on the things they look at in people like me (age, mental fitness, and no signs of the last 3 infections me at the moment).
He removed the stasis complete and that's on it's way for a biopsy to ID it correctly, so current news is that I am essentially back in the same boat as you guys........no death date but could get run over by a bus tomorrow.
Already got my itinery for doing the family things that I should have done years ago instead of worrying if I could afford a bill or not, so I'm doing the Eagles for a bit..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeNhwnO8hw
PS
Still where you saw me last, and this last one caused me to genuinely give up cold turkey on the nicotine in 4 days flat (obviously because I was shagged, but it's worked and I can feel the benefit of that already).

+1 Matey! Don't let it get the upper hand, you WILL beat the sodding thing!! :y
God Bless from all of us here ;)

Never a bad thing, but not a nice way to quit....
Same hospital? If so I can walk to see you this time :y

I honestly never noticed it, although it never did seem that easy when I was trying the patches and pills as an alternative.....probably because your body is still getting the drug it craves.

Atkinson Morley unit at St George's in Tooting mate, my surgeon (Mr James Laban) is happy enough for Rhonda to pick me up at midday tomorrow and bring me home though.

Here's hoping this is the last of it now.

You're telling me J, however this eduroam kicks the ass outta VM even though it is only a quarter of their download speed....even page loading is "instant" as far as the eye is concerned :D :D :D

Jeez what a nightmare!! :o :( I'll be thinking of you mate and lets hope you've finally got it whipped! :y

I am back in the UK next weekend, would be good to see you :y

Ouch! Sorry to hear about this. You've had more than your share already. Keep fighting it and all the best for a speedy recovery from this latest battle.
Just picked my Mum up from Guy's this afternoon. Fortunately, it looks like what they removed from her turned out not to be cancer.

What a day, but back home with the requisite meds and doing nothing but relaxing on the sofa for the next 2 weeks minimum (excluding small shopping trips, etc).
Ta to all, and back on occasion (probably daily to help fill my day) to offer contributions when possible.

Good luck to yer, Mark. You've got the constitution of an ox mate. :y
