Lesson learnt!!!!
« on: 03 December 2007, 18:52:19 »

All because I needed to borrow my wifes car on Saturday (As the seats can be removed)
My wife had to use my car  :o "Don't worry" she said; "I'll park it in the multi-storey"...........
Yep! I got the phone call when she left work......."A women in a 4x4 just reversed into your car.....sorry!"

Had two quotations done today; it looks like a new head light, wing and the Bonnet & Front bumper will need re-spraying.

Lesson learnt! next time hire a van!  :y

Sorry to hear that :'(

Why do people drive these tractors when they've not got a hope of parking them - or driving them - safely?

Well, I must admit the biker that hit me in Italy nicely sorted the scratch on the bumper from when I knocked over an ice cream sign a few days earlier :-X

Having witnessed one of my neighbours reverse a Micra of about 1990 vintage into another car... it matters not what they drive. I had one of those Micras, it was the easiest car in the world to reverse (bar the Aygo/ 107/ C1 trio, where you merely look over your shoulder to see behind the back bumper...)

Eventhough the quote's have not been received; the general consensus is:-
New Headlight,
New wing (questionable),
Front bumper re-sprayed,
Bonnet re-sprayed.

And my friend who owns the bodyshop, will also sort the tracking out, FOC (What a mate!)  :y

Just a thought, if the Government got off its arse and stopped protected no-claims bonus, the people driving cars that they can't handle would have more accidents and hence higher insurance premiums. Imagine trying to insure a V8 "cheslea tractor" with zero NCB !

The MOTOR insurance industry is a joke. People can have "guaranteed" NCB these days. 30 quid a year and you WILL NOT LOSE your ncb however many people's pride and joy you dent.

.. and then I get stung for an extra 100 quid on my premium because I mention the fact that a contractor working in a car park dropped his ladder on my car and arranged repair without their involvement. Not even a phone call to my insurance and that'll be an extra 100 quid please >:( "It indicates that you put yourself at a higher risk" What, parking under a CCTV camera? What's the likelihood that a bloke'll come along to service it while I'm parked and drop his ladder on my car?  >:(

I cannot express in words how much I loathe insurance companies. I will be very careful how much of the truth I tell them in future.  >:(

I have heard plenty of bad insurance company stories; especially when it comes to claims.

I must be one the fortunate, a couple of years ago I had one of those choices in life while driving down a single track lane....... Do I hit the local vicars car head on or center punch my lovely Mk2 Cav Sri 130 using a tree.. ::) two seconds later; the tree it was  :-[

Two years before I bought the car for £120; after the insurance claim i'd got £500, then bought the car back for £50 then stripped it down to the shell keeping everything I could. :y

My point is the insurance company I use was brilliant! No fuss, No problems. ;)
