Depends on where you set your criteria. If you are saying the badge value is falling because of poor quality that is somewhat different to a lot of used VWs being available. Any motorway journey and you are surrounded by VWs.

Question is for cars of quality to be available at afforable/sensible prices you get a chance to own something that is different and maybe a bit of a one off is not to be overlooked because of badge. When I bought the Omega it was with a long term ownership in mind - I paid £17k for a lot of car - 1 year old and list price of £31k. Yes it dropped like a stone and would have done so for firstfew years but nearly 10 years on it was not a bad buy.

It is all about the price and the trade off between a degree of newness you would like and heavier depreciation in first years. I hope to keep Phaeton for 10 years.

I love Q-cars, the Phaeton is so subtle it's brilliant. Very handsome.

A lot of USA input because they have older cars - Phaeton was wihdrawn a while ago so they are having to sort out lots of jobs themselves.

You get some good input such as:

Apart from the annoying ads - you may find this to be quite interesting. This car began production more or less when Omega ceased. The factory gets a lot of visitors and it is quite nice  in some way to be associated with something a bit different.
