spine not up to digging myself,   but i DO have a very good , very reasonable groundworks company in my pocket.....    if we had a whip round......  ?

just had ground levelled, (far end down by 375mm ,   (8mx5m foundations dug, steelwork formed and concrete poured (350x450 ring beam and slab) and finished at the end of a 70 metre garden with restricted access......   all waste removed ,  soak away dug and refilled,  services conduit laid , and so on...

for a client ,   whole job in at under 5 grand.

they cover the whole country as they do groundworks for a number of major retailers, (like Iceland, and Sainsbury)

I'm in debt to MrDTM a number of times for various fixes over the years, so count me in  :y

I'm up for doing as much as my back will allow, so may have to slow down a bit as day goes on  :-[

A chance to pay back some favours. :)

It will be hard work I expect, but the more people, the easier it will be I guess.

Calling Oof chain gang ;D

too far for me,

but if you can get a wheelbarrow down the path, you can get a small micro digger, a powered dumper helps get the spoil out.

One thing though, would need fair bit of notice. Weekdays are not too bad, but weekend leave (if I'm working on day needed) can be an issue.

So as soon as a date is known, I'll check it/book it off.

Also, Curry afterwards?  :D

I'm sure we can find a curry house somewhere between Nottingham and Brakkers. In fact, the nearer home, the better, as I'm sure a Cobra or 3 will slip down nicely...

The obvious solution is to re-site Mrs DTM's tumble drier and Mark's work bench to the side wall of the garage then demolish the garage end wall (TB can organise that) so that a mini digger and dumper can drive straight through into the back garden.
