Omega General Help / Re: cold start probs
« on: 04 July 2007, 18:37:33 »
Hi. found out today that it was a cracked exhaust manifold.
The crack closed up when the engine got warm and the metal contracted ( closing the crack ) in cold weather.
 But you all knew that......

Omega General Help / cold start probs
« on: 29 June 2007, 18:47:10 »
Hi, love the warm weather, 2002 omega 2.2 hates it.....
If the outside temp is above approx 12-13 deg` cent` the cold start will be lumpy for about 10-12 secs before alls well. Above 18-20 deg` cent` the engine will stall and require a second go then very lumpy for 10 -20 secs.
During winter the problem went away & warm start has never been a problem.

Any advice will be appreciated. thanks.

Holidays with your Omega.
Try a bit of dune bashing, Northern England to Southern Tunisia
July 2006, well recomended!!!
( 2002 2.2CD )

Had a little fun in the alps Feb 2005.
Winter tyres were a legal requirement and snow chains recomended, sadly we had neither.
I recomend following the snow plough it will get you through.

How did it handle in the snow

Reeeeeal good fun and little scary and slow going. The back end did go a few times however it was easy to correct. We did have to turn back in the end while those with chains continued.  Will get some next time...
