Omega General Help / Air con pump bypass short belt?
« on: 25 May 2011, 01:16:38 »
Hi, my omega 2.5td has been running rough and recenty got it looked and and was told its due to the air con compressor pump and that its sparking badly. I have a replacement pump but lots of places wont do or cant do the work as its apparently complicated. So Ive seen you can put a shorter belt on to miss the air con pully and that would solve my problem for the meantime. Was just wondering if anyone could direct me to the belt i need?

Thanks.

Haha ok thanks

Cant sort it so think Ill go to vauxhall tomorrow to see what they say. Thanks for your help tho :)

4
Nothing, its just the same and says safe no matter what I try

5
Oh ok never knew, my first vauxhall ha all other cars had to have the ignition on.

I checked the fuse when I had the unit out the other day and when I turn the ignition on it just says brakelight check then wash fluid check as usual and then when I turn the cd player on it just says SAFE

6
Tried that too and no sucess. Could there just be something wrong with the unit that wouldnt let me do this? The cd player can be turned on without the keys in the ignition, is that normal? most other cars ive had dont turn on unless the keys are in.

7
Ive tried to do it a few different ways but it just keeps reading SAFE. I tried it like it said by pressing the button and turn the ignition on. Then I tried it with the car running, car off, keys in, keys not it. No luck yet :( could my AS button be broken?

8
Thanks got the sunroof and windows sorted, also found the code of the cd player marked on it, but I cant get the screen to go from safe to enable me to type in the code and Ive followed all the instructions. Is it possible im locked out of it?

9
Hi was hoping someone could maybe help me. My car got a new alternator and belts yesterday and they had to take the battery out to fit it and now the cd player (ccr 2006) is just showing safe on the screen. Nothing works on it. Also my sunroof has stoped working and it was fine before the alternator was fitted to. Ive checked fuses and all are fine. What else should I be looking for?

Thanks,

Nathan.

Omega General Help / Re: 01 Omega 2.5TD Won't Start
« on: 16 March 2011, 22:38:26 »
Wouldn't start for ages on monday even with a full take of diesel so couldn't be the lift pump. Droped it in with my mechanics on monday evening and they worked on it yesterday. Fault code was saying general glow plug fault, 3 were done and the other 3 on there way out so got them replaced. But tonight its back to normal :( taking ages to start. What could it be? Runs grand and hasnt lost any power once started.

It started today first time, so I drove straight to the petrol station and filled up just incase it is the lift pump. Runs fine and hasnt lost any performance but there still is a noise coming from round then engine. Sounds a bit like a whine from something that is spinning/turning.

Its got near half a tank of diesel now and still the same. Does that mean its likely to be the diesel pump then?

Omega General Help / 01 Omega 2.5TD Won't Start
« on: 12 March 2011, 14:35:34 »
Hi everyone, not been on the forum very long but I now need some advice about my omega.
Basically the car won't start. Its been fine up to now, though I've only had it about a month. When I tried starting to today it turns over and seems to fire for a split second then dies. I've tried it a few times now and looked at fueses but cant see any gone.

Could it be the diesel pump or something? Last night when I was parked and the car was idling it was making an odd noise like a higher pitch sound coming from the engine. Never heard it before and today it wont start so thought it might be connected.

Any help or info on what to check would be great.

Thanks,

Nathan.
