Colin's wishbones.

...and her rattly polo...  Is annoying me. Pfffff...

Still, had the use of one of these

AV IT!
Swapped my wheels over...  ...the old fashioned way - Orgasmagizmo went flat.

Got rid of the Autogrip tyre, and got a puncture repaired on the Rover.

Contemplated doing the MV6 handbrake, but ran out of daylight.
What is it with you and that bloody handbrake? Mine is out of adjustment, but only because the drums are grooved badly. It passed the mot btw. Need to back the handbrake adjusters right off to get the discs off. Replace the discs (soon) and will probably be fine. Other than that I've never had to look at a handbrake.  ???
Its the constant bloody battle with that car. Not Vauxhall's finest moment.  Never really ever suffered too many problems on any other Omega (once fixed the bodges previous owners/mechanics put on).

*SIGH* another day laying on a cold driveway, pissing about with crappy handbrakes  >:(. S'pose I should make a start in a mo.

@jonny maybe not to everyone's taste but sure who cares  :)
Considering I'm not a painter they turned out pretty good, still got 3 of the door strips to do as taking doors off one at a time and fixing other little niggles.
Will be down Bangor some time soon as have family down that way so maybe let you see it.

Has it got some pattern hb cable on it? Or are you jamming it on while u turning on bps forecourt every two minutes? ;D

Fit a (far superior) Elite handbrake cable and gubbins? Perhaps? Should be the same I would of thought, but it's either you or the handbrake....?

Up early and was first at the gate at the scrapyard , pulled some plastic rear arches off a different car to the mig and measured up to see if they would fit the arches ....wow perfect ! Soon as the warmer weather comes ill be ripping all the rot out the rear arches and fitting the plastic trims together with a lot of rust cure and body sealant . Header tank check when i got back and all is well .

The mig certainly keeps you busy  ::) ;D

Discovered that my fixed hose is now no longer fixed and has dumped a coolant bottle of water in the last 40 miles. :(

Sorted my MV6 gearbox niggles, for once and for all  :y

For anyone who's interested in the history..

First sign of trouble was very regular (pretty much constant) limp mode, with code P0748 (from memory) - auto gearbox pressure control solenoid malfunction.

When this happened, I ordered a new solenoid from JPAT, and fitted it. This cured the limp mode issue, BUT a new problem soon reared it's head - Fault codes relating to ratio faults, and, limp mode being activated when slowing down only with sport mode on. I also then had a problem with the gearchange from 3rd to 4th being somewhat sudden, and a little violent, unless you increased speed very gradually up to 50mph.

Today, my mate Markie and I dropped both of the autobox sumps on my MV6, and fully cleaned them out, flushed the autobox oil cooler, and re-filled with some nice new red ATF. At the same time, also fitted a known good GM pressure control solenoid as given to me by Mr Sassanach.

The end result is, no more fault codes. The change into 4th is now un-noticable under all conditions, and I can't provoke limp mode slowing down in S mode anymore.

SO - if ever your solenoid fails - fit a known good GM part, rather than a pattern jobbie.

The car feels much, much nicer to drive with a smooth autobox, so I'm a happy bunny :y :)

10am to 4pm stripping and cleaning the handbrake.  Nothing untoward found, so cleaned it all up and refitted. Just as bad.

Running low on ideas on this thing now, but live in the knowledge that it took Master 3 attempts to sort it 3 or 4 years ago.

No idea why this one is such a sod  >:(
