holding idle issue

hi again
I have now nearly got everything done on my nig for its mot
but after getting the exhaust done today
it wont stay on idle it will cough then cut out
done this about 10 time then worked ok a couple then started doing it again.
no faults that im aware of with the paperclip test.
any advice on likely cuase please

Very strange its only done it since the exhaust change :-/
Might they have damaged the cat, so now its blocked??

I guess it is a possibility
my brother thinks it could be a tiny leak near the downpipe he has had that issue before
so i will check the joints with washing up liquid
