Never assume!!
took the circular cover off in the boot and there seemed to be a small amount of petrol leaking out from under the large black cover
Are you sure that it was leaking from the cover to the tank or from one of the
2 pipes coming out of the cover?
Remove cover again, switch on ignition to get the pump to run, no need to start
the engine, and check again.
Might be something more sinister like an ABS ECU problem. What year is your car? ( might be handy putting that and auto/manual in your personal details in the unlikely event of having any future questions!). Does it have cruise control and if so does it work? Do you get the normal range of lights greeting you and then going off on the dashboard when you start up?

96 2.0 16v auto cdx estate,cuts out sometimes after a run when restarting while still warm,when slowing down in traffic and at junctions etc read somewhere on here about the breather but cant find the post now

clean out breather pipes, and clean out the ICV using carb cleaner
Welcome to the forum Ian. As Bruce has already said the wishbones are easy to change, unlike some other cars I could mention. Worth doing yourself and saving a bob or two.
The 'How to guide', imho, are a lot better than the usuall book of lies. Mainly because they are done/carried out by ourselves and you can usually ask 'an expert' direct if you are having problems. Not much good when you are on your own with a book.
The DVD on cam belt change is also a good thing, I am lead to believe, and that will also save you some money when needed.

can anybody confirm if i can change over my back plate or not to the kit i wrongly bought or do i have to sell this one and buy the proper one (it was suggested that MARK DTM might now this)
