Door locks / air bags / seat belt tensioners
« on: 09 September 2010, 22:52:57 »

Looking at the handbook and given some symptoms I assume these are all interconnected... ::)

My door locks do not work as they should, they work on the fob but if you manually push the button down you CAN not pull it up again. You have to use the fob, even from inside the car. You CAN push the button down with the door open, the manual suggests you can not as a precaution against locking your keys in the car...
The manual also says that in the event of an accident the doors will unlock, hence why I feel there is a connection..
The air bag light is on constantly, in every other way everything works as it should....
Philrich tried to reset the light but could not manage (Monkeys) :D :D

I have checked the various connections, found some disturbed by the passenger seat but all well now...Any thoughts on this? or is it into the dealers / auto electrics for a diagnosis.... :)

When the door trims off you can check the plastic membrane to see if any bodys been in there already

Once the airbag light is on it can only be reset using a proper tech2 I believe.

You found disturbed connections which may well have been the cause of the light coming on ... so a tech2 to turn it off .. :(

Guess it is auto electrics or main dealer then, nearest tech 2 would be H21

What is the airbag ECU complaining about?
Have a look at the live data to see what it's unhappy with.
Jimbob had an issue on his last car that he narrowed down by comparing the resistances shown on the live data screen.
As ever be careful when messing with airbags (or at least video it for our amusemment.) ;D ;D
