Do you know how to do it, or somebody who knows?

I will have to start looking for a new stereo, but it's not urgent. If you have any suggestions about something that works with GM car, let us know.
Is there any way to make an "AUX-IN" in 2DIN units? I know that TraffcMaster playes messages throught the radio so there is a way to connect it (maybe it's just a FM transmitter so the quality is poor).

My radio is not even 8 years old! ;)
So the only way to avoid constant laser damage is to buy a decent MP3 unit?
I might be wrong but I can make one copy of any CD or DVD as a “backup”.
Anyway, as an expert, can you please advice any good unit which can be plugged to Omega (with steering wheel buttons operation)? I don’t fancy radio on MID display so it’s not a desirable feature.

So, it’s not recommended to play any CDR’s or CDRW’s. Trouble is that most of my CD’s are copied so that original is untouched.
DaveDND – as I understand, this is a laser unit problem, not the player. I know that these lasers (FL models) are quite expensive (how much BTW) but is there any way to fit different laser that will not have any problems with reading CDR’s?
I know that the best way is to change the unit but as it’s 2DIN unit in FLs, it’s expensive to buy the player, 1DIN cover, cables (steering wheel controls)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Key immo cloning.
« on: 04 November 2009, 21:07:16 »
I have received an offer of 20 quid for cloning and I think I'll go for it.

And as far as I know, Bosch KTS can pair transponders with ECU and it cost around 5-6k and other possibilities of this device are almost endless...

So, lets say full kit would be £1000, then to get the money back, you need to program...25 transponders (£40 each programming)!! That's 2 transponders per month to get the money back within a year! So after second transponder each month, money goes into your pocket!
Add some profit on key and fob, cutting plus the majority of keys are being done without VAT or recipe and it looks like it's no brainer...
So still a total rip off to me, not worth more than £20.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Dave, do you know how or who would be able to read 5433.92Mhz and code it to the transponder chip?

With the high investment the mobile guys have made in transponder programming equipment, I doubt you will find one cheaper than £50

 :-X
Oh yes, I know that and understand that some people want a quick return of invested  few hundred £ within a year and have to charge that much but I was thinking more about the "radio" people that are programming gate transponders, craft models controls for far lower money. Not only key transponders are using 533.92Mhz frequency and as far as I know it's only a matter of recording signal.
I would have to ask them

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Key immo cloning.

I have a Focus with only one, manual key, and for safety reasons,  I want to get a spare, remote key. Key and cutting is around £30 and I can program remote locking myself (as per Ford manual). I cant program immobiliser with car ECU as I need two keys to do it so I would either ask Ford to pair it with my ECU (which is around £100 for a 10 min job) or get it cloned by a mobile key specialist. Second option is not the best one as some ECUs don’t like two same immo’s around, and it cost ca min £50 for cloning!
Do you know anyone that has a device to read and code 433,92 Mhz key and could do it cheaper than £50?

Thanks Mark. I was just confirmed that PonyProg cant do it. I’m going to Poland tomorrow, without the radio, and I’ll try to fix it there. If I won’t succeed, is there a chance to send eeprom to you to be read? If dump is ok, and not corrupted, code can be generated. If not it needs programming.

I just suspect that they didn't read the eeprom, and just asked for code, where I asked them 3 times if they can reprogram eeprom, as I suspected that reprogramming might be necessary.
Well, anyway I haven't found anyone that can read this chip or reprogram new...

Do you have one for sale or lease?
At least one good news. I went to do it at Sextons Southampton and asked them if they can read eeprom and it was confirmed that they can. Now they say that it;s not possible to read eeprom in my unit but they need to send it away for 14 days to reprogramm it. Can they read the chip and not able to programm it or did they just asked Philips for code or generated one?

Can you please let me know where I can find it in the unit and if this one is responsible for radio code?

Thanks Dave.
Can you get a proper dump file for this radio and reprogram new chip to work with this one? Does it have to be paired with display again?

I have a CCRT2008 radio which doesnt accept the code and the code cannot be read. I was told that eeprom is corrupted so I need to reprogramm the chip.
Does anyone can get and programm 28C64 plcc32  chip to work with this radio? I dont have the dump but might get one.
Thanks for any info./
