Can anyone remember a series that ran on bbc1 for several years in the late sixties it was in black and white and was based around a pool surrounded by rocks. It was produced in an eastern European country possibly Rumania and the main characters were a girl, a giant gold fish and a dwarf, can anyone recall the name of this programme? sounds weird I know or did I dream it?

Great tribute to the forces sweet heart, such a shame that the weather curtailed the fly past by the Spitfires along the cliffs of Dover

Yup. No need for travel cards, I either use my Apple Watch or iPhone for all TfL travel. It automatically limits to travel card costs, depending how much you use it.

You can't expect Steve to be up to speed with the modern world at his age. The old chap is doing his best. :)
I'll have you know I was using contactless travel at the barriers over 25 years ago. Unless I got caught ...... ;D ;D

Even if legal tender, any retail establishment has the right to refuse to take money.

You'll find many outlets won't accept Scottish notes, or £50 notes. That is their right.

Wouldn't happen to know where that's written in law would ya?  I always thought that it was the consumers responsibility to offer payment for goods rather than ensure payment was taken. Eg: I offered you legal tender, a £50 note, if you don't want to accept it I will still be leaving the shop with the goods. Your choice.  no?  :-\
Incorrect.  The contract does not take place until the goods are paid for.  Any payment can be refused, thus the contract does not take place.  Irrespective of legal tender or otherwise.

Also correct.

I have storage heaters on economy 7 pretty efficient, for their age.The main drawback is limited control.  You have to predict the weather 24 hours ahead if the outside temperature started to warm up . It brings back memories of the marketing battle hosted in newspapers adverts between British Gas and the electric companies many years ago. It was a cartoon ad. showing how to adjust the two heating systems gas showed a hand turning down the control it then showed a storage heater customer hurling the radiator out of the window  ;D

Had the same problem a few months ago it became a reflex action to grab hold of the door on a left hand bend :o!!! Tried adjustment of a catch and heavy lubrication but to avail. Ended up buying a catch off a seller on the forum cost twenty quid, bit of a fiddle to fit especially if you hands like bunches of bananas like mine, all good now though sorted :y

As had been said soak with hot soapy water not detergent after a while gently rinse with clean water and wipe off inspect for damage to the laquer if not to bad carfully polish with t cut. Worst case sinario is it may be a repaint if the base coat has been affected or re laquer of it is only laquer damage

Just a note of thanks to Jon for persisting in helping out with this ongoing problem   in sub zero temperatures the other day, it had us both scatching our heads and making a hmmm noise attempting to get her back to up and running.
