Outs. Temp. (in display) Shows: F °C
« on: 18 January 2017, 08:28:24 »

Hello

This morning realized that no temp info available anymore. Where usually seen e.g. "15 °C" I can just see "F     °C".

So, perhaps sensor broken?

1. Where can I find it under bonnet, did not see it in maintenance section?
2. Do I have to change it (soon) I mean does it affect ECU or heating system?

Thanks in Advance.

Behind the lower section of the front bumper right in the middle, if memory serves.  When mine failed all I got was cold air out of the heater until I set it to "Hi", but it doesn't affect the engine.

Thanks

I try to find it. If not found I inform. Actually I felt that cold air from heater as well but the distance from home to work was so short that I was not sure about this "Cold Air". So that was right, strange! Perhaps temperature inside can be easier controlled by using also the Outs. Temp. data?

The sensor is cheap enough here in the UK and as above lives under the centre of the front bumper. Facelift cars though appear to have a problem with a connector a little further back along the loom, so it needs checking too. The outside temp sensor does also talk to the interior climate control.  :y

Interesting, interesting. I learn every day something. Have to check that connector, too.

It's on the fog light loom, connector lives behind bumper below left headlight. Easy enough to access from underneath :y

Given your location, though, I suspect the sensor is missing following a conversation with some snow...

Found it, so not missing to snow..., easy access, no tools required. Just changed it and got correct reading to display. I check the other connector later if needed. Thanks for everybody about good tips.

Original part had GM stamping and Siemens text and number 09152245.
Spare was about 15 euro, in "Hans Pries topran Germany" box with stick "Made in GB".

OK, from China, actually it has slight offset. The original was quite good. When the real outs. temp went down to 0°C the original showed close to zero as well. Now in zero degrees I see 1-2 in plus side in display. Do you recommend original or better non original spare?

Had to replace the sensor on my current car and it over reads by 5 degrees... the price of buying cheap :-X

I believe genuine sensors are pretty reasonable in cost, so probably worth biting the bullet and getting a genuine one ;)

rather than buying from Opel finland, im sure that the price & postage from the UK or germany is probably still cheaper than buying it locally  :D look on eBay at name brand parts, Bosch / siemens etc.
