funny enough   martin lewis ( martins money markets ) covered such insurance scams as this just to make insurance cheaper....he insists...do..not..do..it...if you had an accident and it all came to light you would not be insured......is it realy worth the worry....also consider if you had an accident in your car..not your fault, how would you feel to find out that the person whos fault it was was doing this scam and therefore not insured.....please say no....

General Car Chat / Re: Do I sell my Omega!
« on: 15 November 2011, 23:57:53 »
i have been giving a lot of thought to buying a smaller...cheaper car for the last 6 months...i  love my old omega....she is reliable....very clean and tidy...and i have added a few bits and pieces to her..just passed the m.o.t for another year....ok fuel is going up and up and it hurts, but when i added up the cost of buying a new car that i do not know the history of and take a chance on it being reliable as my omega,i know that i would get another 10 m.p.g.out of the new one,but it would grieve me to part with the omega for crap money for such a lot of car  and then for the extra m.p.g.and new  car it will take me 5 years to get my money back.....so i am sticking to my old girl who is comfortable....reliable...( famous last words ) and such a loverly looking old girl...i will continue to look after her as i know that she is faithfull to me...amen.. :'( :y

General Car Chat / Re: trolley jacks - update
« on: 12 November 2011, 17:52:42 »
Having worked selling tools and garage equipment for 22years until i retired...i never sold trolley jacks to the garages unless i could guarantee that i could supply a replacement repair kit as a lot of the cheaper jacks you cant repair them yourself and if they can be repaired  by outside repair agents    the cost of this out weighs the price of the jack..well known makes even jack sealey  (  cheap  )    guarantee spares for at least 10 years...just something to consider when buying hydraulic items   :y

Omega General Help / Re: ENGINE MANAGEMENT & STEERING CLICKS
« on: 04 November 2011, 23:56:05 »
hi just to may be help you....do your indicators self cancell after turning the corner......i ask because i had your problem ....mine clicked every time on turning left     would not self cancel  until one day when turning left it   jammed solid and i had to fight with all my strength to stop me mounting the pavement..anyway i took off the steering wheel cowling detached the indicator stalk by sliding it out...then if you look into the aperture where you took the switch out you may well find that there is a broken piece of plastic in there...if you take off the steering wheel...underneath is what i believe they call the air bag squab..this has two electrical wires going to it.....this is the part that cancels your indicators  and very often a piece breaks off and cant get out and at some point will jam the steering wheel.....i bought a 2nd hand one off one of the guys on here who breaks  omegas...cost was £15   took 20 mins to complete the fitting........but be warned take notice of the instructions about disconnecting your battery then waiitng 10 mins before taking wires of the air bag squab....sorry to be long winded about this but i am certain this is your fault and it will sort it  cheers ray..
