Today's car hatred is insane. And the worst thing is the people who use the car to work and support these measures

Omega General Help / Help with tech2 auto to manual conversion
« on: 15 December 2021, 19:59:00 »
Hello. I wanted to ask a question about converting the ECU 3.2 auto to manual. I have spoken with my opel workshop to do it but they have never done it and they do not know how to do it. They say they will enter my chassis number but it will appear that it is a 2.6, will I need a number of 3.2? Could tell me in which areas of tech2 would you have to go to configure it and explain it? They tell me to try but they don't guarantee anything
Thanks

I'd imagine that prices of good low mileage, second hand cars will rise steeply after 2030.  ::)
As will the cost of petrol
Oh wait  :-[
it already is doing  :(

That is the question. High fuel prices, emission taxes, traffic bans ...

Hello, I wanted to know the opinion you have about this, increasingly closer law. I am in Spain where the sale ban will be in 2035, but I think it will be there in 2030, which is very shortly, what do you and the people in general think? What are you planning to do with your omegas? I read you

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: ECU 3.2 manual conversion
« on: 08 December 2021, 15:27:33 »
The 3.2 Manual ECU does run a different Map over the 3.2 Auto ECU,  but as said it will run on a 3.2 Auto, 2.6 Auto and Manual ECUs, but and from experience there is a but, without the correct Manual 3.2 ECU or at least getting a 3.2 Auto Tech 2 to a Manual configuration, there is a chance you wake up one day and find the car will refuse to start due to weird Fault Codes, which basically means the ECU can't see the Auto Gearbox.

That is to say, that the ecu 3.2 can execute a time in manual without problems until it fails or is there ecu 3.2 that despite putting it in manual with Tech2 after a while it will fail?
Sorry if I have not understood it correctly from the translator

Unless you have the diagnostic kit for the LPG ecu...

But, each installation and each installer is different... A good system fitted badly will be more trouble than a bad system fitted well.

There are several members here with direct experience of a variety of systems who might help point you in the right direction, but it ultimately boils down to how it is fitted.

Ok, I will comment to them then. :y

It doubles all the potential trouble spots and introduces all sorts of variables into the cooling and electrical systems...

LPG is only as good as the quality of the parts and the quality of the installation.

It is, therefore, an important part of the diagnosis, especially with regard to poor starting and running.

So I understand that I should tell the lpg installer?

Now you mention LPG ???

I understand what influences the use of lpg? Do not mention it at the time because the start is on gasoline.

You again forget to mention running on lpg...

Ahora mismo no, 3.2 has not yet worked with lpg

Well, I have not yet been able to perform the measurement but currently it starts well the first time. Saying that now I only run on gasoline, I don't use LPG, could that have something to do with it

You need Tech2 and GlobalTis software

This is my film on YT. I swaped automatic gearbox on manual gearbox in my Opel Omega 3.2
My film have a polish language and polish interface in Tech2 and GlobalTis

Or you could not bother... The auto ecu works just fine with a manual box. No warning lights or loss of performance if used in a factory manual.

If in a factory auto converted to manual, then you might want to remove the gearbox fuse and gearbox ecu...

although running the engine loom from a factory 2.6/3.2 manual helps as the ecu cannot see a gearbox failure error (from the gearbox being removed) because the pins on the engine ecu plug aren't populated. (the auto box connects to its own ecu through the engine ecu and a third body loom plug).

Linky fixed

Sure? I have seen people who gave them problems, they did not go as well and they would turn on the fault light until I solve it
As for running 3.2 with 2.6 ECUs, I am currently running like this but long term fuel trims are high  :-\

Sunrise air temperature in Maspalomas is 21°C...

Hardly 'cold'.

Also, you didn't answer my question... If you cycle the key a couple of times, does it start instantly?

No, does the same

Fuel pump, Pressure regulator or a leaky injector.

What happens if you turn the key to position 2 then back to off one or two times before actually cranking?

If it fires instantly then you have a fuel delivery issue.

What temperature are you considering a cold start?

The same thing happens.
Arranque en frio me refiero a temperatura ambiente tras una larga parada, generalmente de un dia para otro, cuando necesita usar el starter

my first thoughts would be the coolant temp sensor ie the one that talks to the engine ECU rather the sensor for the temp gauge.  :-\

That happened to me in another car, but I do not know if it is possible in the omega too, hence my question

Hi, It's been a while since the first cold start didn't turn on, it doesn't matter if I insist, instead, on the second attempt it starts immediately. Any ideas? Some sensor?
