Don't take painkillers. A bit of pain never hurt anyone. Good nights sleep is unlikely. I have to slep in my sons old single bed in the spare room for 12 weeks due to swmbo shielding and its like sleeping on concrete. Don't know why he never complained about it, but then hes young. They don't notice stuff like that like us geriatrics do.

Pain ,by definition hurts  ::) if your not a masochist you could try some Ibuprofen  ;D
Ibuprofen is mild , just eases pain and stops swelling  inflammation , it's not crack cocaine

I'm 50  ;D
no sofa cushions or extra pillows you can pad out the pea under the mattress with   :-\

you need to sort this out ,12 weeks of not sleeping properly will mess you up  :( seriously
even if you buy a new mattress , money well spent
your body NEEDS to recover ,that's what sleep is  ;)

Don't make life hard for yourself
life has a knack of doing that for you ,without your help  :y

Well said Dave, I was going to say this too :y..if you have to make sacrifices...  for f?cks sake look after yourself too mate, a few quid here and there for comfort is the best investment you’ll probably make, and if you’re not well how the hell can you help anyone else?

Yes , just wondered if Tech 2 could pulse it forward  :-\ in the same way it gets a signal every 10th of a mile  :y
No. But nothing to stop you making a pulse generator to do it, set to the fastest the clocks can handle, but it would still takes weeks to get 10s of thousands of miles on it.

Best Tech2 can do is get the speedo to read a certain speed, but this does not impact the odo.

I agree.  Pain is an evolutionary protection mechanism, which painkillers suppress.

Hence I only take them when really, really necessary.  Like earlier in the week when I was paralysed with pain, and couldn't get off the bed for a piss :(.

Also, because I so rarely take them, pop a single 500mg of naproxen, and I can't feel *anything* for about 24hrs...   ...so end up with more injuries where I stub my toe, or catch a finger, and don't feel it ;D

Whacked the donut bush in the last half inch and reassembled. Was planning on doing the other side but ended up driving down that London to deliver a food parcel to daughter. Return journey of 130 miles on near empty roads reminded me what a lovely old thing the Omega is to drive.
Got out fresh as a daisy with a smile on my face. Just what I needed at the moment.

Strangely I did. It actually ended up being two boxes and three large carrier bags, hence postage not really an option.
