Congratulations on the pass
.. when some testers just HAVE to put something on for the bloody hell of it . . .others are quite happy to leave none.
I think some do it to get work, some do it to cover themselves with general statements like "rusty suspension components"
corrosion has a 3 month liability IIRC BUT to asses corrosion, your only allowed to use fingers and thumbs and official corrosion assessment tool the size of a toffee hammer to tap (not poke the sharp end through with force )
assuming you get £150 scrap when you finish using the Omega , that's £50 a year "depreciation" ,£1 a week
+1
Yes, with my last MOT at a specialist brake, tyre, and exhaust centre that I have used for years, there suddenly appeared two advisories, each one about "dirty and slightly corroded" front brake pipes. This was after under 4,000 miles of driving over the previous year, and my local Vx dealer doing the MOT then, and the previous two, without anything being "advised".
As some will remember, I posted about getting the car high on ramps after the MOT and cleaning the pipes from front to back, protecting with
Supertrol. During that process I found no signs of any rust, just some light dirt! I almost went back to the MOT tester, or another one I have know for years, and raising it with them, but can't be bothered to do so as it may stir up trouble for future MOT's!!
It does make you wonder though..................but these garages know my car and me well, working on it from time to time........so...??!
