So I am still looking for another estate, '03 diesel or V6.

Can anybody help? Apparently I have to have hundreds of messages before I can put a wanted ad on.

General Car Chat / V6 or Diesel?

I have a 2.5 V6 Estate, and it is getting a bit tired!

So I am looking for an '03 to replace it.

If I go for a diesel, what are the shortfalls likely to be? Will it tow the same weight? What will the fuel consumption be?

Will it cost more than a V6? Has anyone got an '03 to sell??

My car is facelift 2.5V6 petrol. Speedo stops working and the ABS and tractuion control warning lights come on.

Everything else (seems) to work OK.

Any idea where to look?

Omega General Help / V6 cam cover gasket - parts left over!!!

I have recently done my cam cover gaskets, hopefully never to do them again!! What a job

Anyway I ordered the parts as per the instructions, but did not need / could not find where they were needed, the seal 90501652, 2 off.

But does not work on either of the switches by the light!

Where is the temperature gauge sender on the 2.5 petrol V6?

I have just done cam cover gaskets, and obviously dislodged a connector, as I now have no gauge. Heater is hot though.

Omega General Help / Cam cover gaskets - problems!!

Now I am not a novice when it comes to engine building or working on cars, I rebuild classic race cars for a living!
But, I am doing the cam covers gaskets after an engine fire at the weekend.

I am having a hell of a job to get everything out of the way to get passenger side cover back on. I have got the wire tray out, but can I get the wires out of the way? I am even thinking of disconencting the AC pipe!!!

I am sure you guys that have done this loads of times will have a little tweak?

I need a LH door mirror, face lift Y reg 2.5 Estate. Colour not important as everything is OK apart from the chassis!!

Omega General Help / V6 Engine whistle

I have a whistling on my 2.5 V6 on start up. Disapears after a couple of minutes.

I cannot tell if it is alternator, a/c pump or PAS. Or indeed something else!

Is there a common problem here?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Siemens NCDR 2011 Problem

I have a Siemens NCDR2011 radio / CD system in my Y reg Omega.
When I put a CD in, any CD, I get the message 'Please insert CD with printed side up' . Obviously I am putting it in the correct way up.

Is there anything I can do, maybe to clean it, or reset something?

I have a Y reg 2.5 CDX estate, and need a drivers side front strut, as it got bent when I hit a wall!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Omega General Help / Handbrake adjustment.

I havn't started grovelling under the car yet, but is there any way of adjusting the handbrake. It will fail it's MOT next time as the the lever is now right at the top.
It is on discs at the rear, but I believe the handbrake works on shoes inside the disc..
