Title: Replacing CAR300 with Pioneer headunit
Post by: o-meg-a on 26 February 2011, 16:32:41
I have trawled trough as many past posts as my head can handle and not found what i'm looking for so i'll ask a fresh Q.

I'm replacing the headunit for an aftermarket one.
Only single DIN, no steering controls to worry about, and I'm not fussed on it showing any radio info on the MID.

Soooo, with that in mind, what harness adaptor do i need to buy?
My stereo has ISO block connections...., will they just plug into the lower part of the 3 blocks? (the 2 smaller ones)
look kinda similar.

thanks

From what I can remember you will need an ISO harness as the vauxhall wiring isn't the same as your headunit,I think you will need something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC2-04-4-Vauxhall-Omega-Senator-Signum-ISO-Lead-/160436669973?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item255ac54e15

I'm sure Dave DND will tell you if I'm wrong

If your Pioneer has a short set of leads with ISO connectors on, there should be bullets on the yellow and red wires - swap them over so yellow goes to red and red goes to yellow, and thats all you need to do.

Pc2-04-4 only needed if the ISO connectors are physically built into the radio

Thanks Dave I knew that some part of the wiring needed changing but couldn't remember as it was that long since I've retro fitted a single din into a Vx. :y
