Steering idler arm
« on: 28 August 2015, 12:51:38 »

I replaced the steering idler arm on my omega last year, and have only done around 12000 mile since, but it now needs replacing again. Is this normal? I would have expected it to last longer.

All so, is the idler arm drop link available? ( the bit the idler arm bolts to) as I wonder if this will also need replacing.

At a guess.. that's a non-genuine GM idler, yes?

If so, common problem with non-genuines, many brand new pattern ones are worse than the worn genuines they replace.

If genuine GM.... oh dear. They're usually good for 100k.  :(
