Technically, it is GM's parts brand, just like Motorcraft, Mopar and Unipart were from Ford, Chrysler and BL. So some parts will be obviously bought in from specialist manufacturers; bearings, variousgaskets, spark plugs, drive belts, filters, oil etc.

Just to clear up the point on the price, they add UK VAT plus their own delivery charge making the bottom line a bit hefty :o But there's no point in chasing your backside here, for possibly a non existent part, life's to short ;)

Yes, even from the USA! I have sold / bought car parts on Ebay to / from the US (and not using their GSP) a lot heavier than a header tank, with tracked courier prices a lot cheaper than that.
A bit after the boat has sailed now, but the correct header tank with the sensor etc is still shown as in stock and available at Autovaux for the price I quoted previously, although I accept their website isn't always bang up to date.

Thanks for the original Autovaux tip off, but they emailed me just now, saying that they don't stock them anymore. So Rock Auto was the right choice in this case, and I think that if I get stuck again I think they are well worth a shot, bearing in mind that the Catera was a 3.0,and that may help a bit for my 3.0 MV6 for the odd part, but not a lot for my 3.2's. :y

At least you found one and hopefully will now be sorted.
Quite a few parts now are pretty expensive or difficult to source, so sometimes you just have to bite the bullet...!
