Tory party apathy.
« on: 26 August 2022, 14:27:05 »

Although still PM Boris seems to be on permanent holiday, and has lost interest.

Then we have the leadership battle. There are only about 170,000 votes to count. FFS get on with it, 7-10 days is more than enough time. Why do we need to be in this political limbo with everything else going on at the moment?.

The Tory party seems to be devoid of direction at the moment, and if it doesn't change Keir ' a woman can also have a penis' Starmer will be the next PM.  :-X

Starmer might be Prime minister after the next GE, but the next PM will be  one of the two lightweights battling it out now. Agree though all the t/v time for just 170,000 old farts is a total farce.

Old Farts? Wasn’t ( isn’t) our Mig V6 a paid up member?

Hasn’t Boris announced today relief is going to be announced next month?

Ive never voted Tory in my life (too left wing for my liking) but I joined the party for one year, so I could vote to get rid of Treasonous May and vote for a replacement who would implement the result of the Brexit referendum.
I said at the time that once he had done that they could chuck him in the Thames the next day, for all I care.
They probably wish they had have done now.  ::)

And besides all that, yes I actually am an old fart.  :y :D

I haven't got the energy to try and figure out what needs doing, or even what I think needs doing, over so many issues happening right now. The country/world/universe is a shit show, and it's going to take a long time and a lot of unraveling to get anything even near sorted out.
Everything is connected to everything else and they are all in a downward spiral, so I'm staying quiet........and stocking up on booze and popcorn.

Your right STEMO. The country and the Western world is in a terrible mess, and I cant see any realistic way of fixing it.
The economy will recover at some point. It always does. People will think its all ok again when that happens, but theres a lot more to this mess than just economics.
Doesnt matter that much to me. I have maybe 20 years left, but I worry for how the future will be for my kids and their kids.

Far to complicated for me to offer a solution to this total clusteropps that we are all in, won't waste any time worrying over it , simply make the most of our time we've got left, our kids & grandkids will have to make their own way forward as we have had to.

Seems to me that it's the same crowd squealing about the lack of Govt action that relentlessly went on and on about parties in Downing St to bring down the PM.  ::)

What did they think would happen if Boris Johnson resigned?  ???

I think you are right. Whoever wins will have a poison chalice. Labour will get in at the next election. Then lose the following election. Tories will then be in for the rest of most of our lives assuming we are still here after WW3
