Here's the thing. France for all its faults stands by its right to be French, and will defend that to the hilt (no pun intended).

We bitch and moan about all the migrants coming here, but given the way France deals with them, there's little wonder they're prepared to drown to get away.

If our police were half as direct as the Gendarmerie or Guardia Civil, we wouldn't have to endure half the stuff we happily suck up and complain about.

Not that the details of this case are justified, you can understand why the lad was targeted. Unfortunately it's an accepted consequence that the wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time will fall foul of whatever might have just occurred.

I watched that report on Sky yesterday but they did not mention the baton incident .
I'm an advocate of stronger Police Tactics but that is just beyond brutal , I cannot think where the motive for such actions came from .
I can only think that the lean sentences are to appease the Police as a whole and not to induce any backlash from the force ,which let's face it France depends upon.
The Police have to have the powers to control but with power comes responsibility .

Armenians rifling boxes in Lidl apparently.

Perhaps, rather than playing the victim card on UK news, this story and others like it would be better broadcast as a deterrent in those countries from where people are flooding from.
