Car now on driveway.  Battery as flat as a witches tit, so suspect thats shagged

That'll be all that electricity you insist on cramming into the poor thing.  ::)  :P
Clearly didn't put enough in ;D

Its been on the fastest charge my charger can muster for the last 7hrs, so hopefully the battery is recoverable.

I've always wondered why you're always putting electricity in it and it turns out that you've been going round with a shagged alternator?  ???  ::)

Don't tell Mrs TB.  She'll remove your nads!  ;D

When we had 3 cars, pre Chinese Sniffle, one - usually the Battlebus - would go weeks on end unused.  And the Battlebus needed lots of electricity due to knackered (sheared) glowplugs.  That said, it never, ever failed to start.

During and since the pandemic, my car doesn't get used much at all.  And if its not used for more than about 10 days, it will go on charge.

Batteries don't like to be left in a partially discharged state ;)

So, yeah, I have had my money's worth from this charger ;D

Got a value on the Subaru today  out of curiousity as WBAC have a portakabin in Sainsbury's , paid £2800 for it 5 years ago offered me £3600 for it seemed good but SWMBO will not let it go.

It will soon be cheaper to buy new batteries than to keep charging them up.  ;D

You're right there if the stories I've been reading are true there won't be many businesses left, one publican in Wales today said in order to pay his monthly outgoings he would have to charge £6 a pint , obviously he is having to close down.

Picked the car up, complete with its new alternator and yet another new aux belt.

I wasn't brave enough to drive it too the Wimpy to meet bro, so took Mrs TB's car ;D

Put the newer battery back in at lunchtime - I had put the older one that I originally took out 3 years ago temporarily whilst I charged the newer one up and tested it.

Alternator kicking out 14.65v :)

Hitched the caravan up to it for a few days in Buxton, great walking area , few drinks & meals out while pubs & restaurants still exist.
