Decided to take a chance on takin the Big Black Pussy to Bro's in the early hours of yesterday morning.  No issues to report with it.  Sounds normal, no electrical glitches, all seems good since alternator replaced.

Lets hope it starts when I drive it home in a week :)

Having finally sourced a pair of rear springs for the Alabama Mumsybus, I have deleted the rear air springs and plumbing.

Net result is that it now sits level and it won't sag after a few days in the Work carpark.

I will pull the compressor etc when I swap in the heated washer bottle. But as it sits a little higher, the compressor will be constantly trying to let air out rather than pump it up, and I need to research the wiring diagrams for the headlight levelling before removing the electrickery parts...

Quick test drive suggests that it is slightly more stable now, although it did throw a code when I flung it around in a turnout... Apparently it thinks it's taking too long to dump the air from the back axle under heavy braking ;D

rough idle ? or stalling and not starting ?
I've just restocked spares with a Chinesium SCV £23 delivered. half the cost of the Bosch 0928400487 looks the same . :-X
I mined about half a kilo of coal out the intake pipe and EGR on one of our Astra 1.7 CDTI estates (only done 93K ) a couple of weeks ago  :D
new brake pads thanks to TB  :) and ebay handbrake cable etc and it passed MOT with no advisories  :)

Rough idle, stuttering occasionally and stalled after a 160ish mile motorway trip and refused to restart and then struggled to idle for 10 mins.

Was a genuine Denso part (In a Nissan box!)

is the EGR blanked ?
clicky   :-X
checked the intake and EGR for coal ?
won't always throw a DTC for a stuck EGR
though SCVs sticking are very common on many tractors ,not just Vauxhalls

It's a Mitsubishi; £5k of parts could easily be carried home in a carrier bag..... ::)

Been sorting out wifes 2003 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 8v for MOT. She recently got it as a stand in, while her omega is being sorted. Had to do front brakes. Also had to change radiator due to the outlet on it being cracked.  Had fun undoing the Automatic Gearbox, cooler pipes from it. Luckily had drained the engine and radiator of coolant before hand. As the one banjo, had siezed into the brass housing on the radiator. I ended up mangling the radiator fitting. Now trying to find out if the autobox takes, normal DexIII fluid. Rang Vauxhall parts dept, was a waste of time. Got off the phone, still not knowing.

Thanks Marks DTM Calib

Have some DEXIII. Still in date. Only need a little bit just to top up, the bit that was lost.  local Vauxhall parts Department, had to ring me back. They said that it is a Peugeot Citroen Automatic Transmission Oil Fluid AT42. With part number 1615099580.

I trust your knowledge, more than their's. :y
